About Me

Welcome to Cirrus Birthwork! ☁️💫
My name is Carmen (she/her), and I’m a birth doula based in Victoria.

I’m a birth nerd, a long-distance runner, a cinema enthusiast, and I have a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. As a doula, I support families through the transformative experience of labour.

I completed my training in April 2025 via Camosun College (Doula Micro-Credential – 130 hours).

I look forward to working with families in all forms, including queer, trans, and gender non-conforming parents and birthing people. I intend to build an inclusive & expansive practice that recognizes the unique challenges and joys for LGBTQIA+ people in the birthing space.

I am a settler with Dutch & English ancestry, living and working on the unceded territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ nations. As a birthworker in the Canadian healthcare system, part of my role in reconciliation is to recognize the value of Indigenous healing practices, challenge biases, and help connect families with resources that can address health inequities.
